Sport

Over 90% of our undergraduates participate in sport at some level, and it can be as big a part of your student experience as you choose.
Sporting activity provides social opportunities and a sense of belonging that can be particularly important in the early days when you are settling in at University. Sporting activity provides social opportunities and a sense of belonging that can be particularly important in the early days when you are settling in at University.
Sport at Durham University focuses on three core strands of performance and leadership, participation and community sport development.
Participation
Whether you have played before or there is a new sport you would like to try, through your college you will have the chance to join in and give it a go. Many of our students discover sporting abilities they never knew they had simply through joining a college team, often progressing to play at University-level and beyond

If i had to give something back in a Faustian pact to ensure immortality and I had to choose between returning my World Cup medal, or having my memory of 3 years at Durham deleted from existence, there is no contest. The medal is in the post. The greatest 3 years of my life were spent on the rugby field at Durham University.
