The University is proud of its commitment to academic excellence. This forms the corner stone of Durham's reputation and our popularity with students and employers alike. To support and promote academic excellence, the University will award 65 prestigious Vice-Chancellor's Scholarships for Academic Excellence worth £2,000 each.

Five Vice-Chancellor's Scholarships for Academic Excellence on Entry will be awarded to students commencing their studies in the academic year 2013/14. The scholarships are awarded to full-time home-fee paying applicants who have applied for a place on one of the following programmes:

  • MAnth Anthropology (L622)
  • BA (Hons) Business Economics (L112)
  • BA (Hons) Business and Management (NN12)
  • BA (Hons) Chinese Studies (T101)
  • MAnth Health and Well-being (L693)

Please note that this list is correct at the time of writing; but may be subject to change depending on programme availability in 2013/14.

You do not need to apply for these Vice-Chancellor's Scholarships for Academic Excellence. Scholarships will be awarded by admissions selectors on the basis of outstanding merit and potential demonstrated in UCAS applications.

The recipients of the Vice-Chancellor's Scholarships for Academic Excellence in, Anthropology, Business Economics, Business and Management, Chinese Studies, and MAnth Health and Well-being will be notified by letter posted no later than Friday 15th March 2013.

60 Vice-Chancellor's Scholarships for Academic Excellence at Year End will also be awarded at the end of the academic year 2012/13 to full-time undergraduate students on any degree programme within the University. These awards are made on the basis of academic performance in modules studied throughout the academic year. Recipients will be notified of their award during the 2013 summer vacation.
