Many colleges have their own theatrical groups, who perform everything from open-air Shakespeare, to large scale musicals. Productions are held regularly in college or in the University's Assembly Rooms theatre.

Some colleges provide art room facilities, host artists in residence, and even have their own darkrooms, with many holding annual art or photography competitions. Exhibitions by local artists are also hosted regularly by colleges such as Grey and Trevelyan in Durham, and Stephenson in Stockton.

Several colleges give you the chance to try your hand at journalism through their in-house college magazines/newsletters.
