Undergraduates:

All colleges in Durham City offer college accommodation to all first year students.

Both colleges at Queen's Campus arrange accommodation for all first year students either in college accommodation or in University-vetted accommodation in the nearby area. Students who live within a reasonable travelling distance of the Campus will be given a lower priority if there is excess demand for accommodation.

If you have commitments that mean you need to live out of college during your first year (whether in Durham or Stockton) please notify your college that you do not require accommodation as soon as you receive details of your college allocation. Contact details for each college can be found on individual college websites.

Postgraduates

You can choose whether you would like to live in college accommodation or elsewhere. About one-third of postgraduates live in college. 

You can apply for accommodation in the college of which you are a member after you have received an offer from the University. We offer a guarantee of a single study bedroom in a college or college-managed accommodation to those who complete the accommodation application process by 1 July having previously received their academic offer.
