Coal Bed Methane

Durham currently has research projects looking at underground coal gasification, coal bed methane and enhanced coal bed methane.  Each of these projects is intimately linked with our carbon capture and storage research, so ensuring the impact on the environment is minimised.

Durham is one of only two academic members of the Underground Coal Gasification Association (UCGA).
