The Buttery Committee

The Buttery Committee is a team of five people responsible for running the Shop and Toastie Bar. The Chair of the Committee is a Tier 2 position and is elected by the JCR usually during February. The other positions are appointed by interview soon after and anyone can apply; a letter of application should be made by the deadline which will be followed by a formal interview. We also have an enthusiastic team of Buttery workers - again, anyone from the JCR can apply, we recruit about twice a year; look out for posters advertising this.

Buttery Chair

Hi, I'm Matt Chesnais and I'm the Buttery chair for 2007-2008. Basically my job is to oversee everything that goes on in the Buttery, from making sure that we are making money to liaising with suppliers making sure we are always fully stocked and that the shop is ultimately what you want it to be. If you have any questions, suggestions, or even complaints and compliments, please get in touch.

Shop Manager

Hey, I’m Stef and I’ll be your Shop Manager for the next year. Basically, my job is to ensure the Buttery is well stocked with all of your favourites as well as some new goodies we think you might like to try!! If you have any comments or suggestions, please don’t hesitate to drop me an email and I’ll see what I can do!

Toastie Bar Manager

Hey, I’m Lizzie and it’s my job to ensure you are supplied with all the toasties your heart desires!  I order in the ingredients every week and I run promotions like “toastie of the week”. Most importantly I ensure the toastie bar area is kept spick and span so all the work services are germ-free and all the products are well within their sell-by dates! I also now run the Coffee Machine and the Ginsters products! If you have any suggestions for the way the Toastie Bar can be improved or new topping ideas, do not hesitate to get in touch!

Treasurer

Hi I’m Amanda, the Buttery Treasurer. That means it’s my job to make sure that the Buttery makes a profit and to pay all the bills, that includes your wages if you’re a buttery worker. I also represent the Buttery on the college finance committee and make sure the JCR treasurer is kept up to date with the Buttery’s accounts.

Staffing Officer

Hi, I’m Emma and I’m the Staffing Officer for the next year. For all you Buttery workers I’m the person who sets your rotas and nags you when there are free shifts that need filling. I am also your voice on the committee so get in touch with any issues you wish to raise. For all those who aren’t Buttery workers but want to be it’s me you’ll be applying to!
