If nothing on the Sports or Societies pages takes your fancy, you’re very welcome to set up your own club (Boggle Society anyone?), and here’s how:

You will need:

  • A petition for the club’s formation, signed by at least 10 members, to be given to the exec
  • A constitution containing the club’s name, aims/objectives, and membership criteria
  • Provision for the election of a committee of officers (new club’s exec)
  • The responsibility of each members of the new club’s exec
  • To hold an AGM
  • The following statement: “The society will have an awareness of alcohol and will respect members’ prerogative to refuse to partake in any action against their will.”
  • The JCR Constitution Equal Opportunities clause.
  • The club or society’s constitution approved by the Steering Committee and made public in the library.
