Postgraduate Life
Trevelyan College has put the development of research-led academic ambition and aspiration at the heart of our development vision over the coming ten-year period and we intend to double the size of our postgraduate community over this period; new purpose-built, residential postgraduate accommodation and social facilities for a hundred postgraduates is currently being planned.
All postgraduates are members of our Middle Common Room (MCR) - a formal postgraduate association. The MCR has a dedicated social programme including formal dining as well as its independently organised academic and non-academic events, and full participation in the College's successful sporting campaigns. The College is affiliated to active, cross-disciplinary research groupings including the Durham Energy Institute and the Centre for Medical Humanities. We see postgraduates as leading the College's ambitious academic development and in the building of a community ethos that respects and promotes the generation of new knowledge and scholarly understanding.
