Social spaces

The Bar

More than just a place to enjoy a drink, our bar, situated right in the heart of the College (both physically and metaphorically) is the social centre for everyone - drinkers and non-drinkers. It is the venue for JCR meetings, societies, art exhibitions and events. It is equppied with Wireless interent access and during the day the comfortable environment and Coffee Bar lends provides an extra space for study in small groups.

The Bar is run by a Sabbatical Bar Manager and his team. It is a comfortable meeting space at the centre of College where you can watch televised sports events. It is also the venue for termly exhibitions organised by the Trevelyan Arts Committee.


TV Room

A comfortable social space for around 20 students, housing a large TV connected to Sky television


The Undercroft

This is a large social space and a popular place to read newspapers, talk to friends, watch TV or go to chill out when the Bar closes and you aren't quite ready for bed.  It is also a wireless hotspot and has just recently been refurbished to include internet cafe style area.


Sir James Knott Hall

Our large multi-purpose Sir James Knott Hall, usually known as the SJKH or the "Jimmy Knott Hall", is available to students for a variety of activities, including staging plays, meetings, events and watching movies on the big screen.

It is also the venue for commercial events and functions during vacations and day meetings during term-time.

In the upper area is a small Cinema Room equiped with a large TV, surround sound and Blue-Ray equipment and is a great place for a small group to spend the evening watching a movies, documentaries and such.


Outdoor Areas

Our beautifully landscaped ground offer lots of outdoor areas to relax with friends, read, play games, picnic and in the summer months, revise.
