pFACT (Project Financial Appraisal and Costing Tool) is the web-based system used by the University to calculate the Full Economic Cost (fEC) and income of a research project. pFACT has been extensively tested and successfully rolled out across the University to all Research Administrative Support Functions and to Research Administrators in departments.

Between November 2012 and March 2013, briefing sessions for academics took place in every department in the University to introduce the system.

These briefing sessions are intended for new members of staff or existing members of staff who did not attend the departmental briefing sessions.

The sessions will last approximately 1 hour and will show you how to do the following in pFACT:

- Create a research grant proposal

- Add PI and other costs to a grant

- Amend costs on a grant proposal

- Access the system’s existing reports
