The Leading Research Programme is aimed at researchers who have applied for their first research grant and may now have a project to manage.

The Programme draws on the expertise of a wide range of internal and external facilitators and speakers, who have experience and understanding of the research environment and the challenges and pressures facing researchers managing research projects.

The programme will commence in December 2012 and run through to March 2013. Details of each module, including dates and timings, are given below.

Bookings must be made for the Leading Research Programme via the CIS Training Booking System and the participation of each individual must be endorsed by their Head of Department. An individual's participation will be provisional until they have booked on the requisite modules via the CIS Training Booking System and have Head of Department approval on the system.

You must make a commitment to attend all compulsory modules and complete at least 75% of the whole programme. Some modules will be available for participants to attend at alternative dates throughout the year to afford individuals more flexibility in the commitment(s) needed to fully participate in and benefit from the Leading Research Programme. Alternative dates for these modules will be available on the CIS Training Booking System. Please note that if you fail to attend a module without good reason, then we will notify your Head of Department and reserve the right to charge your department £50 per half day and £100 for a full day. If you need to be absent from a module, please notify us at least 4 days before the module date.
