Historical Theology and the History of Christianity

The range of staff specialisms across Christian history runs from the early Church, where Durham has long-established strengths in the study of both Greek and Latin patristics; through the medieval Church in both east and west; to the era of the Reformations. Particular research expertise in Durham includes Augustine, Byzantine theology, Northumbrian Christianity, and the Reformations in both England and Scotland.
