If there are any problems with the payment of your Tuition Fee Loan which cannot be resolved by liaison between the University and the Student Loans Company you will be contacted by the Finance Department or the Student Financial Support Office.
Other Loans and Grants
Maintenance Loans, Maintenance Grants, Special Support Grants, the Parents Learning Allowance, the Childcare Grant and the Adult Dependants Grant are all paid termly into your bank account.
First payment - 2-4 working days after you register as a student at Durham
Second payment - 18th January 2010
Third payment - 26th April 2010
If you have any problems with payments please contact your College for help. They will liaise with the Student Financial Support Office, which is responsible for payments from the Student Loans Company, to resolve any problems. You should inform your College if you will have difficulty paying for College accommodation, or making any other essential payments, due to delayed student loan or grant payments.
Disabled Students Allowance
In order to claim Disabled Students Allowance you will be required to have a "needs assessment" to work out what support you need. The Durham University Service for Students with Disabilities will help you to arrange this and will provide you with advice and support throughout the process, including on receiving the support to which you are entitled. Contact details for the Durham University Service for Students with Disabilities may be found at http://www.dur.ac.uk/dussd/.
