Supporting Your Personal & Academic Development
Personal development support
Thanks to the generosity of our alumni we are able to provide modest awards to students who wish to become involved in extra-curricular activities such as student sport, student societies, the arts and voluntary work either in Durham or overseas, but who cannot otherwise afford to do so.
For further information about the Arts Management Group, the Durham University Expeditions Panel the Durham University Fund for Students Travelling Abroad and the Personal Development Award Fund can be found on our 'Financial Support for Extra-Curricular Activities' page.
Some of the University’s colleges have additional funds that their students can apply to in order to further their personal development.
Vice Chancellor’s Scholarships for Academic Excellence
The University will award 60 highly prestigious scholarships worth £2,000 each to full-time undergraduates on any programme on the basis of their performance in modules studied throughout the academic year.
Smaller prizes for academic achievement and other achievements are also awarded by individual departments and colleges.
