Accommodation

We strongly advise all students to live in in their first year to take full advantage of the community and extra circricular activities, the spport and to fully participate in Collegiate life. We will welcome returners - subsquent years who are valuable contributors to our college community.

Two types of accommodation are available for new students at Stephenson College:

• rooms in College

• rooms in Durham University at Mezzino (a college-managed, private-sector apartment block)

Accommodation within the College

Flats of six or seven bedrooms share a fully equipped kitchen. Facilities in each bedroom include:

• single bed
• wardrobe and chest of drawers
• study desk & chair
• noticeboard
• en-suite shower, toilet & wash-hand basin
• IT connection to the University network

Accommodation at Durham University at Mezzino

This accommodation is in a college-managed, private-sector residence which is half a mile from the College and Campus, and close to Stockton town centre. The modern apartment blocks are purpose built for students and boast a riverside location with stunning views across the River Tees.

En-suite rooms are arranged in apartments of varied size with shared kitchens, equipped with dishwashers and televisions. Facilities in each bedroom include:

• double bed
• wardrobe and chest of drawers
• study desk & chair
• noticeboard
• en-suite shower, toilet & wash-hand basin
• broadband internet access

What does it cost?

Freshers - 39 weeks (includes freshers week) self catered, ensuite room is £4679.

Returners - 38 weeks self catered, ensuite room is £4559.

Finalists - 39 weeks (includes congregation week) self catered, ensuite room is £4679.

Education Students

Are required to pay an additional £120 for the additional accommodation required due to the extended term times relating to the degree programme.

Additional Information

An non-refundable damage charge of £15.00 is applicable to all tenancies and is added to the accommodation charge.

College Formals will take place in term one and two, the cost will be an additional £22.50 in total which is added to the accommodation charge.

Once you have firmly accepted the offer of a place at Stephenson College through UCAS, then will then be able to access our online accommodation application form. You will be able to specify a preference for accommodation type (in College or in Durham University at Mezzino). We will try to offer your preferred accommodation but we cannot guarantee this as allocations are dependent on demand. Students offered a room are required to sign an agreement for the whole of the year.
