Accommodation

After room inspections took place last week, the majority of rooms and kitchen were found in good condition

But one of the things Helen Luke did come across were illegal adaptors. Please be aware that you are not allowed to use any electrical appliances which require adaptors with the exception of gang sockets fitted with a 5 amp fuse. Helen also found many students with kettles in their rooms and this is not allowed either.

Accommodation

As you know the end of term is near, can you please to do the following things before you leave College for the Easter vacation:

1. Wash all plates, pots, cutlery etc. and put them away. Any pots which have been left out and not washed for 3 days or more will be thrown away

2. Throw away all perishable food (bread, vegetables, fruit etc.) and also clear out the fridge and freezer of unwanted food

3. Place your belongings out of sight

4. Make sure that all lights and electrical equipment is turned off properly

5. Inform college of your vacation plans

6. Check your post and parcel slips before you go

7. Keep checking your Durham email account over the holiday period as the college and departments may send you important information throughout

Please note that maintenance will be carried out in all rooms over the holiday period, so you need to let the Accommodation Advisor, Helen Luke, know of your plans especially if you are planning on staying in College for the duration.
