Mixed Lacrosse is a popular and social sport within college. There are 12 players on each side, 6 boys and 6 girls. Although lacrosse isn’t widely known throughout the UK, it is a lot of fun and a great opportunity to meet new people. Every player has a lacrosse stick in which to throw, catch and dribble (or cradle) the ball. Players score by throwing the ball into the other teams net; the goals are on either side of the pitch. So it’s kind of like football or hockey. At least 2 hours of training will take place every week. Matches shall be played on weekends at Maiden Castle in Durham. Anyone and everyone is welcome…even if you have never heard of lacrosse before! Almost everyone is a beginner, so why not give it a go?!
