Here on the Stephenson Rugby 1st XV we train hard, play hard and party hard. We had an incredibly successful season last year finishing top of Division one and not losing a single game. However this was all achieved in a division one below the one we would have liked to be in – we are now promoted to the Premiership where we fully intend to make a big impact. The level of rugby is really very good and is an excellent progression for those who have played first team rugby at school. Don’t let this put you off however, if you have never played before, as everyone is welcome and there is an incredibly welcoming atmosphere amongst all the players. As you may expect with a rugby team we also have a great social scene! The combination of lots of rugby and a great off pitch environment means everyone associated with the rugby team feels a genuine part of a squad composed of lads who you will stay friends with for the rest of your lives.
