EUAN SQUIRES 1933-1996

Members of the club both past and present will have been shocked and saddened to learn of the death of Euan Squires, who collapsed at the crease whilst batting for the Staff against Gradsoc on the evening of Thursday June 6th 1996. Euan had been a familiar figure in the Staff team for many years and he will be sorely missed. The club extends its deepest sympathies to his family and friends.

Members might like to know that the club collection for Euan reached 83 pounds, and that a cheque for this amount has now been forwarded to the British Heart Foundation.

Euan Squires Trophy

In memory of Euan, who played regularly for both Staff and Grey SCR, the club now plays Grey SCR annually for the Euan Squires Trophy. Here is a list of the results. Matches are 20 overs a side unless otherwise stated.
