St Mary's College

Visit St Mary's

Pre-application Open Days

You can get a taste of what Durham University and St Mary's College has to offer by attending one of our pre-application open days.  The University will be offering the following pre-application open days in Durham City 2012:

  • Monday, 25 June 2012
  • Saturday, 30 June 2012
  • Saturday, 22 September 2012

These events will provide an opportunity for those interested in Durham University to gain a real insight into the Durham student experience.  Departments, colleges and other support services and facilities will be available for talks, tours and demonstrations.  There will be an opportunity to meet our College staff and view our facilities.  There is also likely to be a limited amount of University managed accommodation available.

Places will be limited and therefore pre-booking will be required to attend an open day.  The booking system will open approximately six weeks in advance of the open days.  We do expect our open days to be very busy; you are advised to book early to avoid disappointment.  For further information please see the University's 'Visit Us' pages

Additional visits

If you are unable to attend one of our open days. it is possible to visit St Mary's College at any time of year when the University is open, outside the official University Open Days. We encourage you to visit the College during University term time if possible.  Unfortunately at present, we are unable to offer overnight accommodation during term-time.  If you would like to visit then please contact the Admissions Secretary stmarys.admissions@durham.ac.uk who will arrange this for you, including a visit to the Academic Department.

Post- application

If you are offered a place at Durham University and have been allocated a place at St Mary's College, we encourage you to come and visit us on one of the University's post-application open days when you will be able to experience what it is like to live at St Mary's. In 2011 there will be two post-application University Open Days on 21/22 March 2011 and 22/23 March 2011.

Alternatively, you may be asked to come for an interview by your academic department when you may wish to visit us.
