The Junior Common Room (JCR)
Welcome to St Mary's from Louise Corrigan, JCR President
The JCR, or Junior Common Room, is the body of undergraduate students in college. Each college has it's own JCR and you'll find that they all have their own identities, and we think that Mary's JCR is one of the friendliest, most welcoming and all encompassing JCR you're likely to find- everyone gets involved!
When you arrive at Mary's as an undergraduate you're automatically a member of the JCR and therefore entitled to get involved and have your say. It is the students who run the activities you take part in at university, from sports to arts to the all important bar! The Executive Committee is an elected body of students who help keep the day to day activities of the JCR running smoothly.
At Mary's there is something for everyone. Our highly devoted Social Committee run the big events of the year, including the unmissable Michaelmas Dinner, Informal Ball, College Feast and Midsummer Ball, as well as Mary's Day when we deck the place out in Mary's purple and celebrate everything that is Mary's!
For a better idea of what Mary's is all about, have a look at the JCR Website which you can access from the link on the right and browse the pages, blogs and pictures.
If you have any further questions on life in Mary's, the JCR or anything else, please contact Louise Corrigan, the JCR President at email@example.com or telephone 0191 334 5940 (office).
