Professor Simon Hackett, Principal

Martin Clemmett, Bursar

With the support of the College Staff, Martin Clemmett makes sure that the roof does not leak and that you are fed and watered; that you pay your bills on time and get value for money.

Dr Gillian Boughton, Vice-Principal and Senior Tutor

Dr Gillian Boughton is responsible for admissions and student welfare and academic issues. She works two-thirds time in College and teaches in the Department of English Studies. If you have any problems with your academic studies or personal worries or health problems you can ask to see her by contacting Dorothy Grieve, Student Support Administrator.

Dr Linda Yang, Assistant Senior Tutor (maternity cover)

Dr Yang assists the Principal and Vice-Principal in matters concerning student support and admissions, with particular responsibilities in some areas concerned with maintaining and developing the college community. She is the first point of contact and support for all postgraduate part-time distance learning students registered with St Mary's College.

Chaplain

Revd Andy Byers, the Chaplain, is available to students to discuss their needs, concerns and faith questions on a confidential basis. They organise Chapel services. The Chaplain interviews undergraduate applicants for St Mary's.

Dorothy Grieve, Student Support Administrator

Dorothy is concerned with welfare issues, registration and financial support applications. She will inform your academic department in case of illness and arranges appointments with the Vice-Principal and Senior Tutor.

Suzanne Joyce, Finance Officer

Suzanne Joyce runs the Finance Office and handles College accounts, including student bills. Please contact Suzanne Joyce (Finance Officer) or Sandra Bartlett (Finance Assistant) in the first instance if you have any problems concerning your student bill.

Kathleen Vasey, Admissions Secretary

Kathleen is responsible for all aspects of College admissions and administration. Kathleen works closely with the Vice-Principal & Senior Tutor and the academic departments in processing applications. She arranges interviews and visits to the College and the College’s programme which is part of the University Open Days. Kathleen also show prospective students round the College and is ready to answer questions on the telephone, or by email, so do get in touch.

Helen Davies, Domestic Services Manager

Helen Davies is responsible for the day-to-day running of all domestic services - catering, housekeeping and maintenance. If you are organizing a student event in College, she is the person to see about arrangements.

Jane Heath, College Librarian

Jane Heath runs St Marys College Library & also oversees the Computer Rooms with help from a team of Student Volunteers. She works part-time, usually on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 10am - 1pm in term time. Her office is room 53 on the mezzanine level between the Reading Room & the Library. She can also be found in the Library Workroom, which is Room U65A around the corner from the Library.
