St John's College - Chapel Choir

The St John's College Chapel Choir at York Minster
St John's College Chapel Choir is a small ensemble made up of 16 choral scholars, under the direction of Alasdair Jamieson, Director of Chapel Music, and accompanied by the College's Wallis Organ Scholar. Although a small body of singers, the Choral Scholars make a precise, exciting and purposeful contribution to the worshipping life of the college and the wider community. The choir plays an important role for the whole college; although mainly made up of John's Hall students, it works closely with ordinands and staff from Cranmer Hall in offering a valuable insight into the breadth of Anglican worship. The choir sings Choral Evensong every Wednesday afternoon in term at 5.15pm in the College Chapel. All are welcome. The choir have led worship for BBC Radio 4 Daily Service twice in January 2013. The choir also goes on tour and has sung at a range of events at Durham and Ripon Cathedrals.
