How the Alumni Office (johns.alumni@durham.ac.uk) can help:

If you wish to contact a Johnian who was your contemporary, you can send the Alumni Office a letter addressed to that person in a stamped, named envelope.  It is helpful to us if you add the year that person left John's (or was in attendance at John's).  We will then add the address to the envelope and forward it on. Or alternatively you can email the Alumni Office, and we will forward that email (or print it out and post it if we only have a postal address for the person).

If you wish to find information about a deceased Johnian (e.g. the years he/she was in College), the Alumni Office can help if the dates are post 1960.  If the Old Johnian was in College before that time, it is best to contact the archivist at Palace Green Library.

And finally, why not come back to St John's for a reunion? Get in touch with us if you're interested in this. Groups of Johnians do arrange mini reunions here in College from time to time in vacations and we always accommodate them if we possibly can.
