Outreach and Charity Work
All our students are encouraged to participate in outreach and charity work. As a college, we provide a variety of opportunities to engage
Student Development and Employability Programme
We invite charitable organisations in to talk about what they do and what opportunities are available to you while you are University.
Open Days
As part of the University's outreach programme, all colleges are involved in University Open Days. This is an opportunity to talk to prospective students who may be interested in studying at Durham and St Cuthbert's Society. Students are from a variety of backgrounds: local, national and international.
Student Development Awards
As part of our committment to outreach and charitable work, we reward students who get involved. Each year, are invited to apply for an award of £250 for taking part in charitable or community work or are about to embark on such an adventure. The deadline for applications is usually the penultimate week of the Epiphany Term.
St Cuthbert's Ambassadors
The college is often asked by local schools or organisations to get involved. At the beginning of the academic year, all students are asked to volunteer to become an Ambassador for the college. This means we have a ready made army of students who can be called upon to take part in voluntary activities.
