The Senior Common Room
The Senior Common Room lounge, first floor of 12 South Bailey is available for use by SCR members although we advise you to check beforehand via cuthberts.reception@durham.ac.uk as it may have been booked. Drinks and refreshments can be booked in advance through the College Office or alternatively if members call in on the "spur of the moment" to use the facilities, please enquire at reception about tea and coffee arrangements.
The Senior Common Room Lounge may also be booked for entertaining guests, meetings, seminars and private functions. Please contact cuthberts.reception@durham.ac.uk for costs and availability.
Catering Facilities
Dinners on High Table are arranged from time to time otherwise SCR members are welcome to book themselves in for dinner (email cuthberts.reception@durham.ac.uk The cost of dinner is approximately £5 per person.
Members may lunch on High Table with their guests on Fridays during term time up until late June. The Principal and Vice Principal/Senior Tutor also invite guests to attend and all meet in the SCR lounge from 12:45, lunch is served at 13:00 in the Dining Hall. Tea, coffee, cheese and biscuits are available in the SCR afterwards and finishes at about 14:00. Pre-booking is essential (email cuthberts.reception@durham.ac.uk 24 hour's notice is preferred or by 11:00 on the Friday you wish to dine). The cost of lunch is approximately £5 per person. There is no dress code for general dining.

SCR Members and their guests are also welcome to attend High Table at College Formals where the dress code is Black Tie and are always 6:30pm for 7pm. The cost for formals are approximately £12 including wine.
Payment (for drinks and dining)
Payment for attendance at all events is via the Finance Assistant, Beverley Garrett, beverley.garrett@durham.ac.uk . Invoices are sent out at regular intervals. The attendance price for many events includes a welcome drink and for some, such as Guest Night, an allowance is made for drinks with the meal. Where the publicity states "welcome drinks" or "drinks on arrival" all additional drinks (by the glass or bottle) will need to be signed for by members using the forms supplied at the function, these will then be charged to their account along with the cost of the event.
Parking
Parking on the Bailey is restricted and Traffic Wardens operate during normal working hours of approximatley 8am to 5.30pm. There is further parking available at Parson's Field for those willing to walk between sites. On evenings Pimlico/South Street and Potters Bank are the most convenient car parking nearest to the college. Anyone with specific parking requirements must inform reception at the time of making their booking in order that arrangements can be made to accommodate the request.
College Bars
All SCR members are automatically members of the college bars and can attend at any time unless the premises are being used for a private function.
Tennis Court
The tennis court is also available to SCR members, booking and collection of keys is via the College Office.
