Your Local Students’ Representative

Hi there! My name is Dave Hedley, and I’m your Local Students’ Representative for 2009/10. I’m a “Geordieland”-born first year doing Combined Honours in Social Sciences, and I’m a member of the Cuth’s DJing roster and admin for this year’s Cuth’s Facebook Fresher’s group. I’ve been able to get involved with lots of events and stuff in my time here, and my role is to make sure that all of us locals – whether living at home or in University accommodation – are able to do the same!

Throughout the year I’ll be organising loads of events, from bar crawls and nights out to our MILP formal in the second term. My only advice for locals is to come along to everything you can and get involved, but if you do struggle or have any problems, I’m also here to help! Whether you’re having a real struggle settling in, or simply can’t get back home from a dirty Klute Monday, make sure to get in touch (david.hedley@dur.ac.uk) and I’ll see what I can do to make things easier for you.

I’m really keen on meeting all of the locals that are out there this year, so do make sure to come along to events and make yourself known, and let’s make this year one to remember!
