Hi I’m Tom Fletcher and I’m your Livers Out Rep for 2008 – 2009!
My job is to act as a point of contact for all of St. Cuthbert’s Society’s Livers Out. As Livers Out you remain members of the Society and therefore are entitled to the same level of support and care as any other Society member. It is my job, through my position on JCR Exec and Welfare Committee, to make sure you are receiving this and that you are represented. My role also entails producing Livers Out Packs on a termly basis to keep you informed of events and developments within the Society, the JCR and the DSU. In addition I organise the annual Livers Out Formal in late October (WOOOOOO!!!), mail you the list of outstanding post which has been sent to the Society address at 12 South Bailey and provide anyone who needs them with Carbon Monoxide detectors for their house.
Basically, I am here for anybody who needs me for any kind of issue related to living out. I will be running weekly drop-in sessions at the Bailey where you can come and talk to me, whether you’re having a landlord-related issue or simply want to rant about that one housemate who never does the washing up! Everything you tell me will be heard in strict confidence.
One thing I should stress is that I am in no position to provide you with any kind of legal advice. Should you come to me with such an issue, I am more than happy to listen to you and to make suggestions. Nothing I say should, however, be taken as official legal advice as I am not trained to provide such a service. Should you require legal advice you should contact the DSU Housing Office or a solicitor.
If you need me, please email me on cuthberts.liversout@durham.ac.uk or you can ring/text me on 077384552305. I’ll be having drop in hours once term starts and I’ll inform you of what those are through the newsletter.
Lots of love!
Tom xxxxxx
