About us

The College is set in landscaped gardens which overlook the Cathedral. We have our own purpose-built conference suite, The Lindisfarne Centre, in addition to many seminar rooms within the main college.
St. Aidan's College was originally founded as a women's college, but became co-educational in 1981.
The College overlooks Durham City and its Norman Castle and Cathedral which together create a World Heritage Site.
St. Aidan's was designed by the renowned architect, Sir Basil Spence (creator of Coventry Cathedral). It is a modern design on repeated themes of curves and arches.
The College is built as an oval, around landscaped gardens. It has its own all-weather sports court and is adjacent to a golf course.
The area is ideally situated for visiting a wide range of attractions such as Hadrian's Wall. Lindisfarne Priory, Beamish Museum, the Metro Centre, Weardale and Teesdale.
Durham is easily accessed by road, rail and plane.
