Verifications for students

It may be occasionally necessary to obtain formal certification of your status as a registered current student or verification of your status as a former student at Durham University.

You can obtain a Confirmation Letter by completing this request form, the letter will state your course of study and other relevant information that gives proof that you are or have been a student. Where you have requested collection, your letter will be held for one month and disposed of if you have failed to collect it.

Verifications for third parties

SPA are able to provide verification of a student's studies and any degree awarded. This may be required, for example, by a prospective employer or another academic institution. The request must be made in writing and this can be done via this request form. The request must include the signed consent of the student.

You may, however, find the information you require about a current student or recent graduate by searching the official published pass lists. You can do this if you know the student's ID number, email address or Durham IT username. Pass lists are available to view as follows:

• Postgraduates for the previous 12 month period
• Undergraduate pass lists following the May/June examination period available until the end of September
• Undergraduate resit examination pass lists available until the end of the Christmas vacation
