Applying to join the Solid-State NMR research group
Ph.D. studentships: Potentially available in any of the following areas: new methods for studying molecular solids (particularly pharmaceuticals), dynamics and motion in solids (and liquid crystals), many-spin systems, and the interface between solid-state NMR and complementary techniques (such as X-ray diffraction, quantum chemical calculation and molecular dynamics studies).
Applicants should have a solid background in either chemistry or physics. Information on the department and postgraduate admission can be found here.
New: Funded PhD studentship in pharmaceutical applications of solid-state NMR available for Oct 2012 start (see PDF below for full information).
Please note that non-EU students must identify a promising source of funding before applying e.g. Commonwealth studentships (Commonwealth countries only) or schemes which fund the difference between "home" (EU) and "overseas" tuition fees..
Postdoctoral positions: Speculative applications from potential postdoctoral researchers with significant previous NMR experience are welcome.
Sources of funding for postdoctoral study: Marie Curie Fellowships, Royal Society
