Governance
The activities and operations of the Faculty and its constituent academic units are overseen and managed through a network of committees, which make-up the Faculty's governance structure.
Faculty Board
The Faculty's Board oversees the overall business of the Faculty. It is chaired by the Pro-Vice Chancellor and its members encompasses the Deputy Heads of Faculty, Heads of Department/School, Faculty Office administrators and representatives from the University's Central and Professional Service divisions.
Education Committee | Undergraduate
Education Committee | Postgraduate
The Faculty's Undergraduate Education Committee oversees all of the Faculty's business relating to undergraduate study and it reports into the University's Education Committee. The Committee is chaired by the Deputy Head of Faculty (Undergraduate), all departmental/school Directors of Undergraduate Study are members and a DUSU-nominated student representative also attends. The University's Academic Support Office attends and services the Committee.
The Faculty's Postgraduate Education Committee oversees all of the Faculty's business relating to postgraduate study and it reports into the University's Education Committee. The Committee is chaired by the Deputy Head of Faculty (Postgraduate) and all departmental/school Directors of Postgraduate Study are members and a DUSU-nominated student representative also attends. The University's Academic Support Office attends and services the Committee.
Research Committee
Ethics Committee
The Faculty's Research Committee oversees all of the Faculty's business relating to research activity and its governance and it reports into the University's Research Committee. The Committee is chaired by the Deputy Head of Faculty (Research) and all departmental/school Directors of Research are members.
The Faculty's Ethics Committee oversees all of the Faculty's business relating to research ethics and it reports into the University's Ethics Committee. The Committee is chaired by the Deputy Head of Faculty (Research) and the chairs of departmental/school ethics committees are members.
