With historical features and attractions such as original yards including Green Dragon Yard, a courtyard of restored historic warehouses within a series of alleyways which houses the Green Dragon pub, the Green Dragon Studios and the Georgian Theatre – Britain’s oldest surviving Georgian theatre.

The retail centre of Stockton-on-Tees is concentrated in two locations – Castlegate Centre and Wellington Square. Castlegate Centre is a popular destination as an indoor market, popular commercial retail facilities and multi-storey car park. The Teesquay Millennium Footbridge links Castlegate Centre to Castlegate Quay, Teesdale Business Park and Durham University – Queen’s Campus. A full-size replica of local-born Captain James Cook's ship HM Bark Endeavour is moored at the Castlegate quayside which provides a grand location for entertainment and educational functions. Stockton-on-Tees skyline is dominated by the Infinity Bridge – a public pedestrian and cycle footbridge which was a major part of the North Shore Redevelopment Project undertaken by Tees Valley Regeneration.

Chandlers Wharf is situated at the north side of the river. The area is characterised by a mixture of office and residential accommodation, including the colourful twelve-storey Mezzino student apartments at Rialto Court where a large majority of our students reside.
