Pre-application Open Days
The best way to find out more about living and studying at Durham University is to come on one of our pre-application open days. We run pre-application open days in Durham City so come and get a taste of what the School of Government and International Affairs has to offer by attending one of these pre-application events on either:
Monday 24th June 2013
or
Saturday 29th June 2013
or
Saturday 21st September 2013
There will be an opportunity to meet School of Government and International Affairs staff, on these days, and to visit some of our University facilities.
These events will provide an opportunity for those interested in Durham University to gain a real insight into the Durham student experience. Colleges and other student support services and facilities will be available for talks, tours and demonstrations. There is also likely to be a limited amount of university managed accommodation available. Places will be limited and therefore pre-booking will be required. Further information, including booking arrangements, will be published on the following web page http://www.dur.ac.uk/study/visit/undergraduate/. (If in the event the link is not functioning please email open.days@durham.ac.uk)
The School will be holding four identical sessions on the Open Days from 9.30-10.30; 10.50-11.50; 1.30-2.30; and 2.50-3.50 on Monday and Saturdays. A place at one of these sessions must be booked (via the link above).
PLEASE NOTE: The Open Day sessions do get booked up closer to the date so book early if possible as we cannot unfortunately accommodate visitors ad hoc. Successful applicants who receive offers to Durham will be invited for a more structured open day in March annually, so there will be an opportunity to visit later.
Visitors to the School are very welcome at other times if unable to attend the Open Days above, however, we can only accomodate requests by appointment for the last Wednesday afternoon of each month.

Post-application Open Days
Applicants who have successfully been made offers for our programmes get a further chance to visit Durham - an opportunity to make up your mind on whether to pick Durham as your firm offer before the UCAS deadline. You will be invited by the College that has made you the offer, towards the end of March, to stay in College, have a good look around and get a taster of College life.
You will also be able to attend a talk in the School of Government and International Affairs, have a look around the building, and for applicants who have chosen to apply for joint, PPE or Combined Honours programmes you will also be able to attend talks in other departments. These sessions will be more focused on the teaching programmes, modules offered, and structure of the different levels, first, second and final years.
