SGIA POSTGRADUATE SOCIETY

SGIA Postgraduate Society was formally established in September 2008. The prime objective of the society is to produce three issues of a newsletter every academic year. The newsletter will closely follow any departmental changes and developments. To that effect, significant events, taking place at the School of Government and International affaires will be covered and their wider repercussions will be examined. Furthermore, the newsletter will provide the postgraduate students and members of staff an opportunity to publish their pieces covering different aspects of international affaires.
Although, the departmental newsletter has existed for many years prior to the Postgraduate Society, it has not functioned as a comprehensive society to include social activites. Hence, from 2008 the SGIA Postgraduate Society will act as a student run body to provide platforms for further social and intellectual interactions among SGIA's postgraduate community.
As well as organising academic seminars and workshops, we will pay attention to the world culture. In that light, there will be regular film nights where the postgraduate community will be invited to watch and debate movies and documentaries from different corners of the world.
