DESCRIPTION:A creative writing course taught by Durham-based author Fadia 
 Faqir. Have you ever wanted to write? Come and have a go in a friendly and
  supportive environment. The 2-hour weekly workshops, running every Wednes
 day at 2:30 p.m. between 19th October – 7th March, are intended for 
 people who have an active interest in contemporary writing and are keen on
  developing their writing skills.You will be introduced to the craft of wr
 iting fiction. Through the use of the theoretical and practical the course
  focuses on characterisation, description, atmosphere, point of view, alle
 gorical language etc. You will be guided through revision and drafting and
  enabled to reflect on the literary practice of the writers you encounter 
 throughout this course and on your own.Fadia Faqir is the author of Nisani
 t, Pillar of Salt and My Name is Salma. Her work was translated into fourt
 een languages and published in eighteen countries. She is a Writing Fellow
  at St Aidan's College.Suitable for beginners and those who have been writ
