Jan and her team have undertaken a range of studies that have influenced national and local policy including the new edition of the GMC's Tomorrow's Doctors.
Other research themes include: professionalism, revalidation and workplace bullying in the NHS.
Jan is a member of ASME's Educational Research Group, a member of the National Clinical Assessment Service (NCAS) evaluation and research forum, a member of the GMC's equality and diversity research forum and an Academic Reviewer for the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).
