Biography
Karen graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 1992 with an MSc in Health Education and Health Promotion. She subsequently spent 10 years working in the NHS in South West Scotland before moving back to her homeland of Yorkshire (a brief spell at York District Hospital - Patient Access Team) & Teesside. Karen joined the team at Phase 1 Medicine in June 2002. As Teaching & Placement Co-ordinator, she supports the development and delivery of the Medicine in the Community (MiC) and Personal & Professional Development (PPD) strands and co-ordinates student community placements.
Outside of work, Karen enjoys walking her dogs (Rosie and Chance), going to the Queens Campus gym, yoga, playing chess, theatre & music (especially open air with a picnic!) and has an interest in complementary medicine.
