Prison and Offender Research in Social Care and Health (PORSCH)

A research project of the School of Applied Social Sciences.

Background

Offender health and social care is high on the government’s list of priorities. This initiative is the first regional hub of the national PHRN. Its focus is to develop capacity for research into offender health and social care.

Funding

The project is funded by the following grant.

  • Prison Health Research Network (£60000.00 from Care Services Improvement Partnership)

Aims

To develop research capacity into offender health and social care.

Methods

Set up website, network and 2 workshops in first 6 month period to lead to large scale research grant.

Findings

Evaluation will be conducted by PHRN
