Scoping Study on the Role of Trade and Markets in Conflict Development and Conflict Resolution with special reference to Nigeria
A research project of the Department of Anthropology, part of the Anthropology in Development research group.
Background
The project will develop a paper reviewing market and trade issues in conflict identified by practitioners and relevant literature both in Nigeria and internationally. Where possible, this will include the role of informal dispute mechanisms and their interactions and contradictions with formal mechanisms and power structures. The project aims to identify specific research questions for future examination (i.e. to further contribute towards development of a policy agenda.)
