International Landslide Centre (ILC)
A research group of the Department of Geography.
The International Landslide Centre was established in the Department of Geography in 2003 with the following aims:
- To undertake fundamental research into landslide problems with a particular emphasis on less developed countries.
- To provide direct assistance to communities affected by landslide disasters.
- Assist in the development of capabilities to cope with and mitigate against landslides in less developed countries.
We are currently working on a range of projects in Asia, S. America, Africa, Europe and North America. We undertake projects funded by industry; national and local government agencies; research councils; and by international organisations. We are always seeking to work in new areas, so please do contact us.
