Under the supervision of Dr Mike Adcock and Prof Deryck Beyleveld, her research focuses on the protection of Thai traditional knowledge/ agricultural products under Intellectual Property Law. The study will look at practical legal systems to protect, for example, medicinal plants, traditional agricultural crops, and folklore, by using “Thai Jasmine Rice” as a case study. In addition, International law and Thai law will be compared, as well as learning from experiences and prospective of other selected countries. Finally alternative means appropriate for Thailand and other developing countries in protecting, preserving, and promoting their national products will be analysed and recommendations made.
