Biography

Dr. Kotsialos is a Lecturer at the School of Engineering of Durham University since September 2005. Prior to joining Durham University, he was working as a Post-doc Research Associate at the Dynamic Systems and Simulation Laboratory (DSSL) and as a Lecturer at the Department of Production Engineering and Management (DPEM) of the Technical University of Crete (TUC), Greece. He received his engineering degree in Production Engineering and Management from DPEM, TUC in 1995 and subsequently followed the department’s Interdisciplinary Master’s Degree Program from which he graduated in 1998. He continued his studies at the same department focusing on the design of hierarchical traffic control systems using large-scale nonlinear numerical optimisation. This work has lead to his PhD which he obtained in September of 2004. During his period of graduate studies he was working as a Research Associate at DSSL and had the opportunity to be involved in a number of research projects, most funded by the EC.
