Approach Durham on the A1(M). Exit at Junction 62, taking the A690 West towards Durham City. Continue straight over the first roundabout towards the City Centre then turn left at the next roundabout onto New Elvet (A177). Cross the river and continue up the hill. Turn Left at the traffic lights (New Inn pub) and then turn right into the University Science Site.

From the South:

Leave the A1 at Junction 61 and follow the A177 north, through Bowburn and Shincliffe, past Houghall College and Maiden Castle. Travel up the hill and at the roundabout, turn left and then immediately left again into the University Science Site

Science Site:

Proceed through the barrier at the bottom of the hill (or collect a your temporary parking permit).  Continue up the hill until you reach the signs for Mountjoy Centre and John Snow House.  Take your first left, followed by your second left, up a small incline to the new car park at the very top.

Parking:

All visitors are required to display a visitors' parking permit.  You must arrange this prior to your visit with the department you are visiting.

Please Note:

Parking is extremely limited.  A visitor's parking permit does not guarantee a parking space.
