Developmental Psychology

The Developmental Psychology Research Group Co-ordinator is Professor Liz Meins.

The research activities of the Developmental Psychology Group cover aspects of development from the pre-natal period through to early adulthood using a variety of observational and experimental (e.g., prenatal 4-D scanning, EEG/ERP) techniques. We investigate both typically developing children and children with developmental disorders (e.g., Down's syndrome, autism spectrum disorder, specific language impairment, Williams syndrome), as well as investigating how caregivers' psychological well-being (e.g., stress, depression, anxiety, psychosis) relates to children's developmental outcome. Members of the group also take developmental approaches to psychosis and anxiety disorders.
