Providing fees and assistance for Sri Lankan students to undertake post-graduate education and training at Durham

Durham University has provided a number of scholarships for Sri Lankan students in order that they might undertake post-graduate education and training at Durham.

These have so far been in the fields of biological and agricultural sciences, medicine and health, business and finance and ecological developments and environmental education.

Krishanthi Ganga Vithana

One scholarship recipient, Lakmini, is undertaking a PhD in the Department of Biological and Bio-Medical Sciences and in this interview she tells of her experiences.

In autumn 2009, Krishanthi Ganga Vithana arrived in Durham from Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka. Krishanthi will be spending the next three years in Durham undertaking a PhD. In this interview she tells of her first impressions of life in Durham and her ambitions for the future.
