Forthcoming Contracts

The tenders have been separated into the following categories:

1. EU Tenders - The University has a legal obligation to advertise these tenders in the Official Journal of European Union (OJEU) thus giving suppliers based within the EU the opportunity to bid for the contract.
2. Non-EU Tenders - Where the University is not required to advertise the contract in the OJEU the University selects which suppliers to invite to tender.  The number of suppliers invited to tender is relevant to the scale and nature of the contract, please note on average 4 suppliers are invited.

All University tenders will be carried out using an online eSourcing system (acquire).  Whilst we appreciate submitting tenders through an online system may be a new way of working for some suppliers, note this is the only way the University will be accepting tenders.  If you are unable to work in this manner then you are likely to miss out on opportunities to bid for University business.

Taxis

Electronic Point of Sale (EpoS) System
The University is seeking expressions of interest from companies interested in providing an EPoS solution. The solution must support cashless transactions, across multiple sites and a wide variety of University outlets (student cafes, public cafes, restaurants, gift shops and convenience stores) and must be compatible with existing hardware, all of which will be described in detail within the tender documentation.

The Pre-Qualification Questionnaire is due to be released in January/February 2013. The contract is anticipated to run for a period of 5 years and valued at approximately £300,000.

Research Administration System (RAS)
The University is seeking expressions of interest from suppliers offering Research Administration Systems which will give easier and better access to more comprehensive information on all aspects of the University’s research activities. The key requirements are for the system to be flexible and capable of supporting multiple activities requiring research information. The system must provide a single data entry point and have the flexibility to be able to adapt to future needs. Value approx £610,000 contract duration max 10 years (6+2+2). 2. Non-EU Tenders

The University will select an appropriate number of suppliers to invite to the following tenders. Please note if you express an interest in one of the following tenders you are not guaranteed to be invited to tender. The University will review the list of suppliers who have expressed an interest and in conjunction with our research and expertise will determine which suppliers to invite to tender. If your company is selected to participate in the tender you will be notified, otherwise you will not be contacted.

The University is seeking expressions of interest from companies interested in providing temporary staff for catering and domestic services.

The tender documents are due to be released in February/March 2013 with an award date of July/August 2013. The framework agreement will run until February 2015 and is anticipated to be valued at approximately £275,000. These services fall under Category B of the EU Directives and therefore an EU tender will not be required.
