Research Scholarship

The Trustees invite applications for the 2013 Van Mildert College Trust Research Scholarship. One scholarship is available and is open to all subject areas. Applicants, who may be of any nationality, must possess, or be expecting to obtain, a First Class degree or equivalent and demonstrate outstanding potential to undertake research at the highest level. The successful candidate will register for a full-time PhD at Durham University in any discipline commensurate with the research activities of the University. The three-year Scholarship covers fees, complimentary accommodation and meals within Van Mildert College and a stipend of £5,500 per annum for three years from October 2013. It is expected that the successful applicant will contribute to College life.

Candidates must provide their email address and the contact details of two academic referees and are encouraged to make direct contact with potential supervisors to discuss their research project statement prior to submission. Shortlisted candidates will be required to apply online to the Graduate School for acceptance onto a PhD programme, prior to the Trustees deciding the award.
