Stephenson College is informal and innovative. We are growing and evolving and our students play a major part; together we are creating modern traditions and introducing new activities all the time. The College is close to the teaching facilities on campus and is a diverse, inclusive community with a mix of international, postgraduate, undergraduate and mature students. Stephenson College has a growing population of postgraduate students and will accept applications from both full-time and part-time prospective postgraduate students. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, but particularly welcome those who wish to play a full and active part in College life by joining the Middle Common Room (MCR).
The Middle Common Room (MCR) is the community of postgraduate students within Stephenson College. The MCR have their own dedicated social space in College and take part in events organised especially for postgraduates, as well as being invited to events organised for the Junior Common Room (JCR) and Senior Common Room (SCR).

- Accommodation for postgraduate students is based in College managed accommodation in a purpose built student residence close to College, Campus and the centre of Stockton.
- All apartments are arranged with single, en-suite rooms and a communal kitchen, dining and living area which boasts a 32” LCD TV with Freeview and Sky sports channels and stylish sofas.

Catering
All our postgraduate accommodation is self catered, with access to modern and stylish kitchens equipped with a cooker, fridge freezer, dishwasher and microwave. Postgraduate students have full use of the College dining room, The Waterside, at lunch and evenings, week days, during term time. Special dietary requirements can be met for halal, vegan, vegetarian, food allergies or other options on personal consultation with the chef. Please contact us to enquire.

- Stephenson Central: College social space comprising TV loung with Sky TV, games room, meeting room, PC study room and cafe/bar.
- The Waterside and Cafe Aroma: Dining area with widescreen TVs and wi-fe.
- Library and IT Suites: Extensive hard copy and e-learning resources, computing and study facilities.
- Sports Centre: Includes sports hall, astroturf pitch, fitness suite, spinning and ergometer room.
Societies, sports and outreach
Stephenson students participate in a range of societies from drama and musical theatre to pool and photography. Sport is one of the many things that Stephenson pride themselves on and welcome students of all abilities to join their many teams from rugby and badminton, to table tennis and ultimate frisbee. All clubs and societies are open to both postgraduate and undergraduate students.
Support
Our Vice-Principal and Senior Tutor can provide advice regarding welfare and all University related issues to postgraduates at Stephenson College. Stephenson also have a Student Support and Admissions Officer especially for postgraduates, who is the first point of call. They can provide welfare support, finance advice and information on admissions, enrolment and other administrative matters.
All postgraduates are also allocated a College mentor who is an additional point of contact for support and advice.
