Prizes

The Department of Physics has several prizes available to our undergraduates.

J.A. Chalmers Prize in Physics

A book prize awarded annually on the results of the final degree examinations. The prize is open to all students who have taken physics in their final degree examination. More than one such prize may be awarded if funds are available.

J.A. Chalmers Prize in Experimental Physics

A book prize awarded annually on the results of the final degree examinations in Physics. The prize is open to single Honours Physics students who have specialised in Experimental Physics.

D.A. Wright Prize in Physics

Book prize awarded annually to a candidate for Final Honours in the MSci degree in Physics, Theoretical Physics or Physics and Astronomy. The award is for outstanding performance in the final year project.   

Team Project Prize

A cash prize awarded to candidates for Final Honours in the BSc degree in Physics or Physics and Astronomy. The award is for outstanding performance in the BSc Team Project, as well as the third year laboratory, with specific reference to leadership, teamwork and experimental excellence.

Level Three Poster Prize

A prize awarded annually to the winner of the Level Three poster competition. The prize is awarded to an undergraduate student taking Key Skills A or Key Skills B.
